The Brief

Fineline Flooring was appointed to supply and install new flooring for the reception area at Abbey School in Reading, Berkshire, creating a welcoming, durable and professional entrance for pupils, staff and visitors.

The project began with the installation of F Ball 1200 Pro Latex smoothing compound to provide a perfectly prepared subfloor. We then installed Amtico Designers’ Choice luxury vinyl tiles in Pleat (DC558), delivering a contemporary, hard-wearing finish that complements this busy educational environment. To complete the space, we fitted Forbo Tessera Cloudscape carpet tiles in Summer Storm, providing comfort underfoot, excellent acoustic performance and a stylish contrast to the luxury vinyl flooring.

The finished reception area offers a practical, low-maintenance flooring solution designed to withstand heavy daily footfall while creating a smart and inviting first impression for everyone entering the school.
